Server log files

Each time a page is opened, the web server processes the data that your browser transmits: the IP address, date and time of the request, the address of the page or file requested, the page from which you came (referrer), the browser and operating system used, and the amount of data transferred. These data are needed to deliver the website and to keep it stable and secure. They are not combined with other data and are not used to identify visitors.

Cookies, analytics and fonts

This website sets no cookies for visitors and uses no analytics, tracking or advertising tools. Fonts, scripts and images are delivered by our own server; opening a page does not send any data to third parties. Only the login for the members of the group who maintain the website uses a technically necessary session cookie.

Videos

Videos from YouTube or Vimeo are loaded only after you click on them. Only then does your browser connect to the provider – YouTube (Google Ireland Limited, Dublin, Ireland; in its privacy-enhanced mode, youtube-nocookie.com) or Vimeo (Vimeo.com, Inc., New York, USA) – which receives your IP address and may process further data under its own responsibility, possibly also outside the European Union. Details can be found in the privacy policies of Google and Vimeo.

Publication list

The list of publications is retrieved by our server from the open database OpenAlex and stored on our server. Your browser does not connect to OpenAlex.

External links

Links to other websites (journals and DOIs, ORCID, Google Scholar, ResearchGate, LinkedIn, other pages of LMU Munich) are ordinary links. Data are transmitted to these providers only when you follow a link; their privacy policies apply then.

Contact by email and applications

If you write to us by email, we process your details (email address, name, content of the message) in order to answer your request. Applications sent to us by email are used only for the selection procedure. Messages and application documents are deleted as soon as they are no longer needed, unless statutory retention periods apply.
