Sara Dieffenbach
PhD Candidate
Photoelectrochemistry · Solar Energy Conversion
Sara Dieffenbach is a PhD candidate in the SPECTRE group at LMU Munich. Her research focuses on photoelectrochemical energy conversion. She investigates the photophysical processes and interfacial charge transfer that govern the performance of hybrid materials for solar energy conversion and catalysis.
She received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from LMU Munich, with a focus on inorganic and physical chemistry. During her studies, she specialized in electrochemistry, renewable energy, and photochemistry. For her Master’s thesis, conducted at WACKER, she investigated the composition of gas diffusion electrodes for electrochemical CO₂ reduction.
