Gas Chromatography with Thermal Conductivity Detector

GC-TCD

GC-TCD system:

Notably, Helium is not an optimal carrier gas for the detection of H₂ gas generated during water splitting. Therefore, the efficiency of H₂ evolution from water splitting is evaluated in a separate setup with Argon as carrier gas. In this case, quantitative and qualitative analysis is performed using Agilent GC 8860 system with a Thermal Conductivity Detector (TCD). This GC-TCD can be equipped with an HP-Molesieve column for permanent gases analysis or with an HP-5 column for the analysis of organic compounds.
